The Unpardonable Sin

The Unpardonable Sin is to blaspheme against the Holy Spirit.

Mark 3: 28-29

28 “Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme:”

29 “But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation.”

Blaspheme: Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance #987: to vilify, to speak impiously, defame, rail on, revile, speak evil.

All sins and blasphemies shall be forgiven except blasphemies against the Holy Spirit.

Study these scriptures:

Mark 3:22: “And the scribes which came down from Jerusalem said, He hath Beelzebub, and by the prince of the devils casteth he out devils.”

Mark 3:28-29

Matthew 9:32-34

32 “As they went out, behold, they brought to him a dumb man possessed with a devil.”

33 “And when the devil was cast out, the dumb spake: and the multitudes marvelled, saying, It was never so seen in Israel.”

34 “But the Pharisees said, He casteth out devils through the prince of the devils.”

Luke 11:14-15

14 “And he was casting out a devil, and it was dumb. And it came to pass, when the devil was gone out, the dumb spake; and the people wondered.”

15 “But some of them said, He casteth out devils through Beelzebub the chief of the devils.”

John 7:20: “The people answered and said, Thou hast a devil: who goeth about to kill thee?”

John 8:48: “Then answered the Jews, and said unto him, Say we not well that thou art a Samaritan, and hast a devil?”

To blaspheme against the Holy Spirit is the unpardonable sin.

The Lord knows the activities and motives of all church leaders. He realizes the hardships we have.

The Lord leads the church through the Holy Spirit. To question the Lord about how the Church was led down through the years or why He allowed certain things to happen in the Church, is criticizing the Holy Spirit. This should not be done.

If you willfully return to sin once you have received the Holy Spirit, there is not any forgiveness for these sins. Your sins would be forgivable if they were not blasphemous, but Jesus died for our past sins; not for our future willful sins.

Romans 3:25: “Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;”

When we sin due to weakness or any other reason, our Father will forgive us and chastise us. We cannot return to a life of sin.

Once saved, always saved is not true. The Lord can take His Holy Spirit from you as He did Saul.

If we take hold of the plow and look back, we are not worthy.

Luke 9:62, “And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.”

Hebrews 10:38, “Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.”

These are some of the ways you can lose out on your salvation: unbelief, blasphemy against the Holy Ghost, disobedience as Saul did, having the Holy Spirit and turning back into the world, being an unprofitable servant, or anyone who will not have Jesus Christ rule over them.

Luke 19:27, “But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me.”
