The Beast Kingdom of Revelation 13:1-2

The Beast that rises up out of the sea in Revelation 13:1-2 is the revived Holy Roman Empire.

This Beast has seven heads, ten horns, and ten crowns upon the horns.

The leader of this empire gets his power, his seat, and great authority from the Dragon.

Revelation 13:1-2

1 “And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.”

2 “And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.”

The Roman Empire that ruled over the Jews in the time of Jesus Christ became divided into the Eastern Roman Empire and the Western Roman Empire.

The Western Roman Empire became known as the Holy Roman Empire which was defeated by Napoleon in 1806. When this happened, the Holy Roman Empire went underground and was and has been kept alive by the Catholic Church.

The Eastern Roman Empire took on a Grecian culture and language.

The Eastern Roman Empire was defeated by the Ottoman Turks in 1453 and ceased to exist.

The Holy Roman Empire that went underground will be revived in the end time.

The revived Roman Empire, the fourth kingdom of Daniel 2 and Daniel 7, will rule over the Jews once again.

There were three world-ruling empires before the Roman Empire.

The Babylonian Empire is symbolized by a lion – Daniel 7:4

The Medo-Persian Empire is symbolized by a bear – Daniel 7:5

The Greco-Macedonian Empire was symbolized by a leopard – Daniel 7:6 (Study Daniel 8)

The Roman Empire was diverse from the other three world-ruling empires.

The first three were defeated and ceased to exist. The Holy Roman Empire was defeated and went underground. This Empire will be revived and will come on the world scene again.

This Empire will rule the world and over the Jews once again.

This Empire will have all the characteristics of the first three world-ruling empires all rolled into one. These characteristics are represented by the lion, the bear, and the leopard.

The lion is mentioned first in Daniel 7:4 and last in Revelation 13:2.

The leopard is mentioned last in Daniel 7:6 and first in Revelation 13:2.

This revived Roman Empire will be like unto to a leopard, with the feet of a bear and the mouth of a lion.

Revelation 13:2, “And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon

gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.”

A leopard hunts with stealth, they are superbly camouflaged, solitary, elusive, and hard to find.

This revived Roman Empire will have the ferocity of a bear and the strength, power, and ferocity of a lion.
