Judas

Judas was with Jesus for three and one half years. He was numbered with the apostles and he had obtained part of the ministry.

Acts 1:17, “For he was numbered with us, and had obtained part of this ministry.”

Judas was a friend whom Jesus trusted.

Psalm 41:9, “Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, which did eat of my bread, hath lifted up his heel against me.”

Judas was a thief. After being with Jesus for three and one half years Judas was still a thief.

John 12:6, “This he said, not that he cared for the poor; but because he was a thief, and had the bag, and bare what was put therein.”

Judas was a traitor.

The devil placed into the heart of Judas to betray Jesus.

John 13:2, “And supper being ended, the devil having now put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, to betray him;”

Judas was a devil.

John 6:70, “Jesus answered them, Have not I chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil?”

After the last supper Jesus said Judas was the prince of this world.

John 14:30, “Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me.”

God’s Holy Spirit was with the apostles.

John 14:17, (Jesus speaking to the disciples) “Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.”

Judas was with Jesus and the Holy Spirit was with Judas yet Judas chose to follow Satan.

Luke 22:3, “Then entered Satan into Judas surnamed Iscariot, being of the number of the twelve.”

John 13:27, “And after the sop Satan entered into him. Then said Jesus unto him, That thou doest, do quickly.”

Judas knew Jesus was aware that he was the traitor.

Matthew 26:25, “Then Judas, which betrayed him, answered and said, Master, is it I? He said unto him, Thou hast said.”

Jesus called Judas the son of perdition.

John 17:12, “While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.”

Judas was the son of total destruction.

If you are a son, you have to have a father. Judas was the son of Satan. God sent His son, Jesus, to save mankind. Satan sent his son to destroy Jesus, the Son of God.

In the world tomorrow we will either have eternal life or eternal death.

Jesus said it would be good for Judas had he never been born.

Matthew 26:24, “The Son of man goeth as it is written of him: but woe unto that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! it had been good for that man if he had not been born.”

Judas partook of both the physical bread and the spiritual bread and then followed Satan.
