How Should We Acknowledge Jesus?

We acknowledge Jesus Christ as being our Savior by observing the feasts of the Lord.

Leviticus 23:1-4

1 “And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,”

2 “Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, Concerning the feasts of the Lord, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are my feasts.”

3 “Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the sabbath of rest, an holy convocation; ye shall do no work therein: it is the sabbath of the Lord in all your dwellings.”

4 “These are the feasts of the Lord, even holy convocations, which ye shall proclaim in their seasons.”

Jesus commanded us to keep the Passover; and if we keep one of the feasts we should keep all of them.

Luke 22:19-20

19 “And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.”

20 “Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.”

I Corinthians 11:24-26

24 “And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.”

25 “After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, this cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.”

26 “For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord’s death till he come.”

The feasts of the Lord pictures God’s plan of salvation for mankind.

The Israelites kept the feasts in the Old Testament. The spiritual aspects of the feasts are being fulfilled now starting in the New Testament with the crucifixion of Jesus Christ as our Passover.

All nations will keep the feasts of the Lord in the world tomorrow.

Isaiah 66:23, “And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the Lord.”

The Feast of Tabernacles:

Zechariah 14:16-19

16 “And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles.”

17 “And it shall be, that whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain.”

18 “And if the family of Egypt go not up, and come not, that have no rain; there shall be the plague, wherewith the Lord will smite the heathen that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles.”

19 “This shall be the punishment of Egypt, and the punishment of all nations that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles.”

The Passover:

Matthew 26:28-29

28 “For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.”

29 “But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father’s kingdom.”

Should We Pray to Jesus?

No. We do not pray to Jesus.

Jesus tells us we should pray to our heavenly Father in Jesus’ name.

Luke 11:1-2

11 “And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.”

2 “And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth.”

Revelation 22:8-9

8 “And I John saw these things, and heard them. And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which shewed me these things.”

9 “Then saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God.”

Matthew 4:10, “Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.”

John 14:13-14

13 “And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.”

14 “If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.”

Jesus Christ is our mediator.

I Timothy 2:5, “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;”

We go before our Heavenly Father ourselves for forgiveness for our sins.

A priest cannot get forgiveness for your sins.

Jesus died for our past sins, not for our future sins.

Romans 3:25, “Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;”

When we sin now our Father is just to forgive us, but He chastises us as a father chastises his son.

I John 1:9, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

Our Father chastises us by letting some hardship come upon us.

Judgement begins now with God’s Church.

I Peter 4:17, “For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?”

I Corinthians 11:31-32

31 “For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.”

32 “But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.”

When we are resurrected, we will be like God because we have already been judged.

I John 3:2, “Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.”

How Should We Address Our Heavenly Father?

Anytime we address or refer to our heavenly Father, we should call Him ‘Father.’

The Lord knows who we are when we pray to Him.

John 10:14: “I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.”

II Timothy 2:19: “Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.”

John 10:2-5

2 “But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.”

3 “To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out.”

4 “And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice.”

5 “And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.”

We show our earthly father respect by calling him ‘Dad’ or something similar. We do not call him by his first name. It is the same with our heavenly Father.

We pray to our heavenly Father and we call Him Father..
